It
is important to present NEOCO data to the public in a way that enhances
the understanding of science. We plan on working with an outreach
expert who will help us to identify our audience in the Monterey
Bay region and beyond. We also plan to link NEOCO scientists to
informal science educators who can help guide development of the
educational component of the website and facilitate the dissemination
of educational resources created by NEOCO.
For
example, NEOCO data may be used to see the effects of the El Niño/La
Niña phenomenon along the Californian coast or to monitor
water quality on a daily basis.
